Fans of Wicked will love Alexandria Children's Theatre's (ACT) staging of The Wizard of Oz with its beloved songs and fantastic dances performed by a cast of 34 students from Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia. This heartwarming show directed by Michael Page, is bright and fun, and a ball for those who'd like to escape their cares and travel over the rainbow to the magical land of Oz.
ACT Founder and Artistic Director Roberta Masters-Cullen says even the Flying Monkeys will get a laugh, and she's hoping audience members will dress up in their favorite costume from the show to add to the merriment!
To support local schools and preschools, as well as to help spread the word about the show, ACT has been donating free tickets to local raffles and silent auctions this Spring.
The show is recommended for ages 5 years and up. Performances will be held at Carl Sandburg Middle School on June 5, 6, June 12 and June 13.
Tickets are $16 with one dollar from every ticket sold being donated to Carl Sandburg's PTA. To purchase tickets and learn more, visit the ACT website https://www.actheatre.com.
