E. Pallorina for Visit Alexandria
Santa at the Scottish Christmas Walk Parade
Condé Nast Traveler has placed Alexandria on its list of the best cities to travel to around Christmas.
The magazine, which has honored Alexandria multiple times, notes: "Alexandria is a picture-perfect place to spend the holiday season. The Old Town’s row houses and centuries-old brick streets look even more charming when adorned with snow and Christmas wreaths, and you can expect a ton of seasonal activities."
The magazine mentions last weekend's Scottish Walk, events at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate, the holiday Boat Parade of Lights and our own Waterskiing Santa.
Here are some of the holiday events coming up:
- Mount Vernon by Candlelight (every weekend)
- Del Ray Artisans’ 26th Annual Fine Art & Fine Craft Holiday Market (every weekend)
- A Christmas Carol at Little Theatre of Alexandria
- Candy Cane Bar Crawl (Saturday, Dec. 11)
- Del Ray Holiday Market (Saturday, Dec. 11)
- Old Town Holiday Market (Saturday, Dec. 11)
