Wintertime Brews & Bourbon Weekend is coming up March 14-16 at The Greenbrier.
Tired of the cold temperatures and looking for a change of scenery? Look no further. Just a four-hour drive from Alexandria, The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., has planned Wintertime Brews & Bourbon Weekend for Friday, March 14-Sunday, March 16, highlighting fantastic regional brews and The Greenbrier’s Private Select bourbons paired with entertaining events and dining.
Some of the fun events of the weekend include:
- Bourbon at the Bar - Enjoy sampling private barrels with an experienced member of The Greenbrier beverage team providing tips for nosing and tasting. Guests learn about the details of each private barrel select, including information about the distillery and the process of choosing the barrel. The tasting includes five 1-ounce flights paired with a domestic charcuterie plate.
- Bourbon, Basketball & Barbecue – College basketball will fill the televisions in JJ’s Sports Lounge, and guests are encouraged to wear the colors of their favorite team. The food & beverage event will feature not only barbecue with a North Carolina-style sauce, but also selections containing bourbon, such as slow cooked bourbon and grape jelly meatballs, smoked peppered salmon with bourbon-honey glaze, bourbon butter cake, Jack Daniel Pecan Pie and more. Some of The Greenbrier’s favorite bourbon cocktails will be available to wash it all down.
- Brackets, Brews and Burgers – What pairs better with regional craft brews than burgers from the grill? Enjoy beef, turkey and impossible burgers built to order or in some of The Greenbrier’s favorite combinations. Sides include fries, mac n’ cheese and ships, with cheesecake, apple pie and more for dessert.
- Bourbon Dinner – This carefully crafted menu is chosen specifically by the culinary team to pair perfectly with some of the resort's favorite bourbons. Learn how the right bourbon can enhance the flavors on your plate, as well as how it can be used in the preparation of mouthwatering selections.
In addition to these entertaining bourbon and beer-themed events, guests can also enjoy fun family activities such as an Adventure Zone program for children, family bingo, adult and children’s painting workshops, a family pickleball tournament, a sports-themed trivia contest and much more.
