Mary Ann Barton is a journalist in Northern Virginia and editor of Alexandria Living Magazine.
Mary Ann comes to Alexandria Living after a distinguished career in magazines, newspapers and online publications. Her experience includes working at Active Interest Media as managing editor of Log Home Design magazine, writing for Gannett, reporting for the Arkansas Democrat newspaper and writing for C-SPAN, in addition to working as an assistant regional editor for AOL's Patch.com. She is a co-editor of "Campaign: A Cartoon History of Bill Clinton's Race for the White House." In addition to having lived in Little Rock, Ark., Mary Ann is a native of Minnetonka, Minn. She studied journalism and Spanish at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. and spent four years living in Lima, Peru. She has called the DC area home for more than 20 years.
When she's not writing for Alexandria Living, Mary Ann covers government issues for County News at the National Association of Counties in Washington, D.C.
