StretchLab is opening its doors to the Alexandria community this summer. Located at 3960 King St. in the Bradlee Shopping Center, StretchLab is planning to open on Aug. 1.
StretchLab is focused on specialized one-on-one and group stretching sessions. Sessions are led by StretchLab’s very own stretching specialists referred to as “flexologists.”
Flexologists are certified or licensed in different body-working fields, ranging from massage therapists to chiropractors. Flexologists go through a special training program that teaches them the proper ways to stretch all sorts of clients.
Clients of all ages are welcome at StretchLab, but clients under the age of 18 are expected to have a parent or guardian signature before joining a session.
With something as different as StretchLab, there are concerns of clients being injured. StretchLab recommends anyone with acute injuries should not participate in sessions. They also recommend visiting a doctor or a physical therapist for an evaluation before coming in for a session.
StretchLab offers a variety of options when it comes to sessions. There are 25-minute sessions and 50-minute sessions. These sessions can be taken in a group setting or individually. Clients can select a four session, eight session, 12 session, or unlimited group stretch session with memberships. Pricing for membership varies by location.
There will be eight locations in the DC-metro area by the end of this year, including Alexandria, Pentagon City and Bethesda, which are all opening soon.
