A long-anticipated Del Ray restaurant, Charlie's On The Avenue, will preview its menu at Charlie’s Pop-Up Bar at Live Oak.
The pop-up will be open July 5 through July 14 only at the bar at Live Oak, so guests can get a sneak peek at what Charlie’s will have to offer when it opens later this summer. Live Oak is located at 1603 Commonwealth Ave.
Charlie’s On The Avenue is the second restaurant in Del Ray for Justus Frank and Jeremy Barber, who opened Live Oak in 2016.
When Charlie's opens later this summer at 1501 Mt. Vernon Ave., it will offer grilled chicken salad, shrimp dishes, German-style pretzels and more, according to previews posted to its Facebook page. It will be a family-friendly restaurant.
Charlie’s On the Avenue is taking over the space formerly occupied by FireFlies, a 15-year mainstay that closed in December 2017.
