An Orangetheory Fitness may be opening in Kingstowne — and that's good news, considering the list of restaurants you'll want to try in the coming months.
Casa Tequila Bar & Grill looks like it's just days away from opening at 1701 King Street. The 100 seat restaurant's entrance will actually be on Reinekers Lane. It will be operated by the same company that owns two other Casa Tequila restaurants in the region (in Lorton and Purcellville).
Smoking Kow BBQ at 3250 Duke Street is opening in just a few weeks, less than a quarter mile from Rockland's. Read more here.
Charlie's on the Avenue in Del Ray will be opening in April. Charlie's on the Avenue will be opening where Fireflies operated for 15 years, and it is the latest venture by the team behind Live Oak (also in Del Ray). Charlie's on the Avenue will offer lunch specials for local workers, show all the big games on weekends and will be kid-friendly.
Sancerre at 1725 Duke Street is also opening soon. The French-American restaurant with a very large outdoor seating area planned comes from the same folks behind Grand Cru in Arlington's Ballston neighborhood.
Mia's Italian Kitchen is opening this spring at 100 King St. (The Alexandria Restaurant Partners restaurant posted on Instagram this weekend that the ovens have been delivered.) The large, rustic Italian place will seat more than 150 people. Read more about Mia's here.
Urbano 116 is opening just up the street from Mia's, at 116 King St. It comes from the team behind Mason Social. Read more about Urbano 116 here.
Executive Diner is opening later this year at 1400 Duke St. It is being described as a classic, All-American diner with extended hours (5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.). Another diner, Van Dorn Diner, is opening later this spring on South Van Dorn Street in the Van Dorn Plaza (the 200 block of South Van Dorn St.). Hiring signs are already posted.
Glory Days Grill is still listed as coming soon on the corporate website, but an opening date has not been announced. It will be located in the Alexandria Commons Shopping Center (3141 Duke St.).
