While the AWLA may have temporarily suspended adoptions to help prevent potential person-to-person community spread of COVID-19, the animals in our care continue to receive the highest level of care. Maya thought it was the perfect time for a field trip, and with those wide open spaces, how could we disagree?

Maya took the opportunity to show off her excellent walking skills, as well as her "Sit" and even "Down" - especially on the car trip home after an exciting but tiring day. And at the end of her adventure, she got to enjoy her favorite thing of all - tummy rubs!
While the AWLA has suspended adoptions, you can follow our website or social media to learn more about when Maya is once again available for adoption.
(Note: Fenced-in dog parks are closed in Alexandria right now to prevent people from congregating due to coronavirus.)
