As many people are heading back to the office and traveling begins to resume, pet owners will be looking for daycare or boarding options for their pandemic puppies.
One of those options is Playful Pack Dog Daycare & Boarding, which is opening a new location in Alexandria at 7520A Richmond Hwy. by the end of the year. The locally-based business currently has locations in McLean, Fairfax Station and Annapolis. In addition to the Alexandria location, Playful Pack plans to also open locations in Rosslyn and Leesburg.
An email sent out by the company last month indicated that the Alexandria and Rosslyn locations are expected to open by the end of 2021, and the Leesburg location will open in early 2022.
“Please note that these are our best hopes and estimates. Building during the pandemic has shown to be quite challenging, and there could certainly be delays that are currently unforeseen. We really cannot wait to open these centers and meet all of you, so trust us when we say we are counting down the days as well!” the email read.
In addition to offering dog daycare from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day, Playful Pack offers overnight boarding. The website says that the Playful Pack experience includes mental stimulation, physical exercise, healthy socialization, constant staff engagement, webcam access, report cards and a cage-free atmosphere. Pricing varies by location, and packages and multi-dog discounts are available.
In addition to providing a place for your dog to socialize and stay, Playful Pack partners with local dog rescues HART (Home Animals Rescue Team), Mutt Love Rescue, A Forever Home and LOVEPAWS to provide fosters a free place to live and learn social skills until they find a home. According to their website, Playful Pack is always looking for ways to support, promote and foster for animal rescue organizations.
