Lady is a 2-year-old female dog who is searching for someone special!
She can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but once she's comfortable with you, you will have a best friend for life.
Lady quickly fell in love with our animal care team and her social circle has continued to grow as she's become more accustomed to shelter life. Once she knows everything will be A-OK, she's ready to play fetch and be showered with attention.
Lady has done well with other dogs here at the shelter and a playful, confident canine pal may be just what she needs to fully blossom.
Pet Calendar Contest Ends Sunday!
The annual Animal Welfare League of Alexandria pet photo calendar contest ends this Sunday, June 30 at 8 p.m., and the AWLA has needs help in reaching its fundraising goal!
"We're encouraging people to vote for their favorite animals! We have lots of adorable and funny pictures in the contest. Each vote is a $1 donation to the AWLA," said AWLA's Erin Shackelford.
As an added incentive to vote, everyone who votes now through the end of the competition will be entered into a drawing to win the chance to name a litter of kittens that come into the AWLA.
In addition, there is still time to enter a pet into the contest. Every animal's photo will be in the calendar, and the $35 entry fee includes a mailed calendar when they're printed in the fall.
