Deborah Davidson for the AWLA
Cooper
Cooper, a 13 year old perky senior, has a sad story, but you’d never know how rough he’s had it.
Cooper first came to us in 2019 as part of a cruelty case. He was emaciated, weighing less than half of what he does now. He was reported to have been kept in a dark basement nearly constantly - with little food and water.
Cooper found a home shortly after, but was recently surrendered to a different Virginia shelter - due to no fault of his own. We immediately requested him be returned to the AWLA.
Despite some tough patches these last few years, Cooper is pure and total JOY! He loves everyone he meets, often covering them in sloppy kisses while he politely requests booty and back scratches.
Cooper knows sit and paw. He walks well on a leash. Loves treats and scratches. We do also think he’s housebroken.
We’d love to find Cooper a home where he can enjoy his golden years.
