Alexandria has gone to the dogs.
The travel resource Expedia just named Alexandria one of the 10 Most Dog-Friendly Vacation Destinations in the U.S.
Expedia pulled together the list of cities that offer the most dog-friendly attractions, tours and restaurants.
Alexandria won praise for dog-friendly King Street (with water bowls and treats aplenty at local retailers), dog-friendly outdoor dining, the Potomac Riverboat Company’s Canine Cruise, The Dog Park boutique, the All the President’s Pups Walking Tour at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate, the number of dog parks in the city and the city’s collection of dog-friendly hotels.
According to Visit Alexandria, 40,000 of Alexandria’s residents are dogs.
