Wednesday, the Virginia Film Office released the title of the Wonder Woman movie being filmed at Alexandria's Landmark Mall this summer.
The next Wonder Woman movie in the series will be called Wonder Woman 1984, and it will be set, in part, in a 1980s suburban shopping mall.
Filming at Landmark is already in progress, and security is tight in the area.
The follow-up to the Warner Bros. Pictures and DC’s first Wonder Woman, released last summer, will be directed by Patty Jenkins and will star Gal Gadot. Kristin Wiig and Pedro Pascal will have major roles. The movie is set for release in November 2019.
A photo released by Warner Bros. from inside the mall (shown above) appears to reveal that character Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) is back in the script for Wonder Woman 1984.
“We are delighted to welcome the Wonder Woman team to Virginia,” said Governor Ralph Northam in a press release today. “We are confident that this trailblazing project will find a perfect home in Alexandria, and look forward to the super impact it will have on our economy and the continued growth of Virginia’s lucrative production industry.”
