As the nation waits for delayed results from the Feb. 3 Iowa Caucuses, Alexandria and Fairfax County officials are reminding voters to register by Feb. 10 for Virginia's primaries.
The Democratic Party Presidential Primary in Virginia is set for March 3. There is no Republican Party Presidential Primary — the Republican Party will hold a statewide convention later this spring.
Virginia is part of Super Tuesday, when 20 states hold their presidential primary events.
To register to vote, you may use the Virginia Department of Elections website at vote.elections.virginia.gov.
Any eligible U.S. citizen who will be 18 years old by November 3, 2020, is eligible to register and vote in this primary. Voters in Virginia do not register by political party.
To check your registration status and find your polling place, visit vote.elections.virginia.gov.
Registrations received after Feb. 10 will be processed after the primary and voters will be able to participate in elections later this year.
