The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority is looking at how to prioritize regional funds for transportation improvements.
The legislation is set for an update, and Virginia State Sen. Scott Surovell, who represents the greater Alexandria area, is asking residents to weigh in on the importance of funding for certain projects.
NVTA plans to allocate $500 million of projects in June across Northern Virginia.
Projects that are competing for these funds include projects in Loudoun County, Prince William County and elsewhere.
The complete project list is available at thenovaauthority.org/programming/fy2020-2025-six-year-program-candidate-project-description-forms.
Surovell is asking constituents to submit comments to help him prioritize local projects, including funds to widen Richmond Highway, create Bus Rapid Transit lanes along the corridor and putting utilities underground.
