ACT for Alexandria, the community foundation, hosted another record-breaking Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Giving Day on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this online fundraising event is an indispensable platform for local nonprofits to engage the community and raise critical funds. This year’s Spring2ACTion engaged 7,209 donors to raise $2,924,622 for the 193 participating organizations.
Spring2ACTion is more than just a day of giving—it’s a powerful demonstration of what we can achieve when we come together as a community," said Heather Peeler, president and CEO of ACT.
“Alexandria is a special place. People choose to live and work in Alexandria because it is a vibrant, diverse, welcoming community," Peeler said. "We have high caliber and resourceful nonprofit organizations, and generous and engaged residents, businesses and faith communities." ACT strives to bring the community together to create a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging - and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
“We are so grateful for all of the 7,209 donors, 193 nonprofits, 65 businesses, and 35 sponsors that participated in this year’s incredible event,” Peeler said. “Strong nonprofits are even more important as we navigate the uncertainty and challenges in today’s world. By giving together and working collaboratively, we are stabilizing vital services and continuing to advance the public good. Thank you for standing with us and supporting our local nonprofits and the community we love."
While the official giving day is over, donors can still use the online platform (www.Spring2ACTion.org) to make donations up until 11:59pm on Sunday, April 13. Donors can search by organization name or cause and donate through their mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
