The Seaport Foundation recently elected of Lauren O’Brien CFP®, CPA, RICP® to its Board of Directors. As an experienced financial advisor, Lauren will bring a wealth of knowledge and provide strategic input on Seaport's finances and goals as a nonprofit.
Lauren is currently a Senior Wealth Advisor at XML Financial Group, where she advises clients on retirement planning, investment management, and wealth transfer strategies. She previously held positions at Wells Fargo Advisors, Bank of America and Deloitte.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lauren to the board,” said Board Chair Helen Morris. “Our organization is now at a critical time of growth and expansion, particularly as planning for Seaport Center II moves forward. Lauren’s expertise as a financial advisor and her ability to plan for the future will be invaluable.”
Lauren looks forward to her position on the board and contributing to our mission in helping young adults in the Apprentice Program.

As an Alexandria resident, Lauren has been fully engaged in the local community for several years. She has held numerous leadership roles, including serving on the Board of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and chairing its Professional Women’s Network. She was also a member of the City of Alexandria’s Budget & Fiscal Affairs Advisory Committee and has been actively involved with The Campagna Center.
Lauren graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accountancy.
