615 and 621 King St.
New life may be coming to the 600 block of King Street, as a developer has proposed renovating 615 and 621 King Street with rejuvenated retail space on the street level and residential units above.
621 King St. once housed a Burke & Herbert Bank branch, while 615 King St. used to be a Walgreens. Georgie's Pilates Loft operated out of 619 King St, which was essentially a portion of 615 King St.

The developer, Silverman Group, submitted paperwork to the Board of Architectural Review with city officials to redevelop the properties, turning them into a single, mixed-use structure. According to the BAR paperwork, the new building would be a "four story building that will include 26 multifamily units and ground floor retail."
In addition, "the Applicant proposes to retain, renovate and integrate the existing the two structures into a combined mix-use building. The proposed building proposes to be set back the new upper floor addition and retain the massing and proportions of the existing facades along King Street." The facade of 621 King St. would be retained, but the facade of 615 King St. would be demolished.
