Campagna Center on Tuesday announced a new partnership with Visit Alexandria and the City of Alexandria to produce the 51st Annual Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade taking place Saturday, Dec. 3.
For 50 years, Campagna Center and its volunteers have produced the beloved Scottish Christmas Walk Parade which is one of the top signature events of Alexandria’s holiday season. The Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade, paired with the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights, creates the foundation for Alexandria’s Biggest Holiday Weekend and has helped Visit Alexandria to distinguish Alexandria as a top holiday destination with recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Southern Living, Oprah Daily and more.
Since the scope of the parade has grown, Visit Alexandria is assuming logistical responsibilities for the event this year with support from the City of Alexandria. Preserving the biggest holiday weekend experience ensures the continuation of a key economic driver for the city’s small business and hospitality communities and preserves a historic signature event that is a source of civic pride. The weekend fills hotel rooms throughout the City of Alexandria and attracts both overnight and D.C. regional visitors to dine and shop during the critical holiday season.
This new partnership allows Campagna Center to continue to deliver its critical mission of supporting children and families in Alexandria with education and social support programs from cradle to career. With the support of Visit Alexandria in executing the annual parade, Campagna Center can remain committed to serving children and families and placing the mission of the organization at the center of all its efforts. Campagna Center will continue to host the annual Taste of Scotland and partner with volunteers to support the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade.
