Carr Properties
The brown brick office building with triangular accents that adorned the corner of Pitt and Montgomery streets in Old Town North is now basically a pile of rubble.
Once Carr Properties finishes cleaning up the debris, the company will start building a new building at 425 Montgomery St. (formerly 901 Pitt St.) with more than 200 apartments, including affordable units. The eight-story, 250,000-square-foot building should be completed by the end of 2026.
"The property will include below-grade parking, 15,800 square feet of outdoor space, a performing arts venue, and nearly 7,000 square feet of additional ground floor retail space," according to Carr Properties.
The building will include studio to three-bedrooms units, an outdoor pool and resident lounge/amenity center. More than one-third of the units will have direct views of the Potomac River.
"Carr will bring 425 Montgomery Street to life with partners SK+I Architecture and interior design firm Edit Lab by Streetsense," Carr Properties announced.
