Alexandria is known for its historic charm and its strong sense of community. This year, the local business landscape welcomed a new neighbor with deep roots: Pillar Wealth Partners. Founded by Nazzareno “Nazz” Spurio and Charlotte Huger, the firm is bringing a fresh, millennial perspective to the world of financial planning.
We sat down with Nazz and Charlotte to discuss their journey, their connections to Alexandria and why they believe financial planning should be more than just a series of investment charts.
A Journey Rooted in Family and Partnership
Q: Tell our readers a bit about how the company got started.
Pillar Wealth Partners: Our story began with a moment of clarity back in 2010. Nazz attended a seminar alongside his parents’ financial advisor and witnessed firsthand the peace of mind that comes from thoughtful, trusted guidance. Seeing the impact that relationship had on his own family revealed just how meaningful this work could be.
Our paths eventually crossed in 2019 at a small independent firm, where we discovered a shared philosophy around intentional planning and genuine client relationships. Nazz later transitioned to Prudential and invited Charlotte to join him, and together we steadily and purposefully grew our team.
In 2025, we took a leap of faith and launched Pillar Wealth Partners. Our vision was clear: to build a firm grounded in trust, long-term relationships and truly comprehensive financial planning — one that supports clients through every stage of life.
Q: Where is the company located?
Pillar Wealth Partners: We are proud to have our headquarters in the heart of the city at the Atrium Building, 277 S. Washington Street in Alexandria.
Q: Does the company have ties to Alexandria?
Pillar Wealth Partners: Absolutely. Alexandria is home. Nazz was born and raised here and is a proud graduate of T.C. Williams (now Alexandria City) High School. He lives in the city today with his wife, Elise, their two children, Vivian and Henry, and their dog, Rosie.
Charlotte, originally from New Orleans, now calls Old Town home. Establishing our headquarters here felt like both a personal and professional homecoming.
A New Approach to Wealth Management
Q: How is your company different from other financial planners? What makes it unique?
Pillar Wealth Partners: We’re two millennials who believe financial planning should feel personal, approachable, and relevant to real life. We aim to be the “CEO of your financial life.” It’s no longer just about managing investments; clients come to us with questions about career moves, real estate, and family planning. Our role is to bring clarity to how every decision fits into the bigger picture.
Q: Your logo features two pillars — what inspired that choice?
Pillar Wealth Partners: The two pillars in our logo symbolize the strength of our partnership at the core of everything we do. One pillar represents our internal foundation — us as partners and the team that supports our clients every day. The other reflects our external partnerships — our clients and the trusted professionals we collaborate with on their behalf. Together, they represent the relationships, trust and shared commitment that support long-term success.
Q: Can you tell our readers about your credentials?
Pillar Wealth Partners: Education is vital to us. We are both graduates of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and both hold the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation. Additionally, Nazz has been recognized by Forbes as a Best-In-State Financial Security Professional for both 2024 and 2025.
Services and Specialties
Q: Do you have certain services or specialties you concentrate on?
Pillar Wealth Partners: We specialize in comprehensive financial planning, including investment management, retirement planning, proactive tax strategies, and coordinated estate planning.
We also have deep experience working with professionals who receive equity compensation, such as Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPPs). We help clients navigate these complex benefits so they can integrate them into their broader goals with confidence.
Q: Do you work with clients of all income levels?
Pillar Wealth Partners: Yes. Every relationship begins with planning, and there is no minimum asset requirement to work with us. We want to meet people where they are and grow alongside them.
Advice for the Community
Q: For someone considering a financial planner, what questions should they ask?
Pillar Wealth Partners: Always ask if your advisor is a CFP® professional and if they work under an open-architecture platform. This ensures they can choose the best solutions for you, rather than being limited to proprietary products. Most importantly, ask if they take the time to truly understand your values.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like our readers to know?
Pillar Wealth Partners: We believe planning works best when it’s built on trust and education. Our mission is to help our neighbors feel grounded and informed so they can focus on living their lives, knowing their financial foundation is solid.
