Ready to ring in the new year? Experience the region’s signature family-friendly New Year’s Eve festival of music and more on Saturday, Dec. 31 in Old Town Alexandria.
The 28th Annual First Night Alexandria, a community celebration of the arts, rings in the new year with music, comedy and dance and culminates with a spectacular fireworks finale over the Potomac River at midnight.
The fun begins at 12 noon and lasts until midnight.

Through the collaborative support of churches, museums, retail establishments, libraries, private clubs, buildings and offices, recreation centers, city-owned facilities, theaters, and hotels, doors are opened as these locations become venues to enjoy artistic expression. All FNA Matinee and Prime Time performances are indoors. FNA After Hours is an outdoor street party at Market Square. The venues are walkable and within a maximum distance - river to rail - 1 mile. Stroll through Old Town and enjoy various performances!
