All City of Alexandria government offices will be closed on Friday, July 4 to celebrate the Fourth of July. Other schedule changes and closures are listed below.
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)
Friday, July 4: ACPS Offices closed.
Alexandria Transit Company (DASH)
Friday, July 4: DASH bus service will operate on a Sunday service schedule.
Please note that DASH Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA)
Friday, July 4: Closed.

Courts
Friday, July 4: The General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Court Service Unit, Circuit Court, and the Clerk of Circuit Court will be closed.
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Friday, July 4: DMV offices are closed. Over 50 services are available 24/7 online at dmv.virginia.gov.

Health Facilities
Friday, July 4: Alexandria Health Department, Flora Krause Casey Health Center, and the Teen Wellness Center will be closed.
Historic Alexandria
Friday, July 4: The Alexandria Black History Museum, Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum, Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site, Gadsby's Tavern Museum, and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All other Historic Alexandria museums will be closed.
Impound Lot
Friday, July 4: Closed
The City’s impound lot is closed on all weekends and observed City holidays. Fees will continue to accrue on Saturday and Sunday, but not on holidays.
Libraries
Friday, July 4: All Alexandria Libraries will be closed.
Parking
Friday, July 4: The Alexandria Police Department will suspend enforcement of parking restrictions at metered spaces and residential permit parking districts. This suspension of enforcement applies only to the restrictions at legal parking spaces and does not permit parking in any normally prohibited location. Temporary no-parking signs will be enforced.
Recreation and Nature Centers
Friday, July 4: Old Town Pool, Warwick Pool, and Memorial Pool will be open 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation facilities and nature centers will be closed.
Resource Recovery
Curbside food waste will not be collected on Friday, July 4. Collection will slide to Saturday, July 5.
The Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center will be closed on Friday, July 4.
Torpedo Factory Art Center
Friday, July 4: The Torpedo Factory Art Center will be closed.
