The National Museum of the Marine Corps will unveil a powerful new exhibition: “United States Marine Corps: 250 Years of Dedication, Determination, and Courage” Friday, June 27, featuring 91 original works of art, providing a striking visual tribute to the enduring legacy of the Marine Corps.
Located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, Va., the museum is about a 30-minute drive from Alexandria.
The gallery exhibit honors 250 years of history by showcasing how Marines have captured and preserved the Marine Corps story through art. The collection spans multiple eras—from the Revolutionary War to modern-day operations—and offers an emotional and authentic lens into the experiences of Marines in service around the world.
“This exhibition is not only a tribute to our history, but also a testament to the Marines who have lived it and the artists who have preserved it,” said Keil Gentry, director of the National Museum of the Marine Corps. “We are honored to bring these powerful stories to life through the medium of art.”
The works in the exhibit include oil and acrylic paintings, prints, pastels, mixed media works, and sculptures. Each piece captures a unique facet of the Marine experience, depicting the intensity of combat, the strength of camaraderie, and the enduring pride of service. Together, they form a dynamic and deeply human narrative that pays tribute to the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of Marines through generations.
The exhibition is part of a larger initiative to commemorate the Marine Corps’ 250th birthday and further the Museum’s mission to preserve and celebrate Marine Corps history and heritage.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. Operated under the command of Marine Corps University, the Museum preserves and exhibits the material history of the U.S. Marine Corps, honors the commitment, accomplishments, and sacrifices of Marines, supports recruitment, training, education, and retention, and provides the public with an accessible platform to explore Marine Corps history.
Located at 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, Va., the Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
