In the coming months, residents will have opportunities to weigh in on future development and plans for the northwest portion of Alexandria.
In his Council Connection email newsletter, Mayor Justin Wilson wrote, "This month we will kick off the comprehensive update of the Alexandria West Small Area Plan. This plan will encompass a wide swath of our City, the entire northwest corner. This planning process presents a unique opportunity for Alexandria's residents to shape the future of this significant portion of our City."
The area includes all neighborhoods west of I-395.
The first meeting is virtual on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. Then, two community pop-up meetings are scheduled for Nov. 19 and 20. More information about the meetings is available at alexandriava.gov/AlexandriaWest.
In addition, a community poll will be available starting Nov. 15 online and at in-person events.
