The City of Alexandria is proud to announce the launch of the upgraded Alex311 app and portal, just in time for the holidays. The newly designed platform makes connecting with City services more convenient, whether you're at home or out and about in Alexandria.
311 is a non-emergency phone number and service in many U.S. cities that connects residents to local government services for information, reporting issues like potholes, noise complaints, or graffiti and requesting non-urgent help, freeing up 911 for actual emergencies.
A map on the portal shows where constituents have questions or suggestions about different City services whether it's a pothole or an icy roadway or a street sign.
It provides a central, convenient way to reach city departments via phone, apps, or online portals for things like trash pickup, streetlights, tax questions, and more, offering 24/7 self-service options and live agents during business hours.
