The City of Alexandria’s Office of Housing is pleased to announce the availability of affordable homeownership units at The Whitley. For detailed information on eligibility requirements and the application process, please click here.
The Whitley, a new 78-unit condominium community located at 811 N Columbus St., Alexandria, is anticipated to open in January 2026.
The condo's website advertises condo prices from "the $500s to $1.9 million."
The City website lists the eight affordable condo units between $195,000 (plus monthly $457 condo fee) for a one bedroom/one bath up to $350,000 for a three-bedroom/two bath/den (plus monthly $646 condo and parking fee).
The eight affordable condominium units, ranging in size from one-bedroom to three-bedroom and den units, will be available to income-eligible, first-time homebuyers that live or work in the City of Alexandria. One two-bedroom unit is designed as an accessible unit.
The City is accepting applications for the affordable units starting Friday, Sept. 26 through Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 at 5 p.m. Due to anticipated high demand, eligible homebuyers will be selected through a lottery.
