The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2021’s Most Diverse Cities in America, as well as accompanying videos.
To determine the places in the U.S. with the most mixed demographics, WalletHub compared the profiles of more than 500 of the largest cities across five major diversity categories: socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious.
Alexandria ranks 18th overall but 6th among midsize cities.
The top five midsize cities for diversity are Jersey City, New Jersey; Sandy Springs, Georgia; Aurora, Illinois; Yonkers, New York; and Stamford, Connecticut.
Alexandria ranked 4th overall in birthplace diversity, meaning many of Alexandria's residents were born in other countries. Arlington ranks 2nd in that category, but ranked much lower for overall diversity at 102nd.
