Alexandria City Public Schools has been distributing more than 30,000 meals per week to students and families in the City of Alexandria from schools and pop-up sites.
With volunteers who register through Volunteer Alexandria, the operation runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with significant safety measures in place for packing and distribution. Meals consist of breakfast, lunch and snack and often include fresh fruits and vegetables and sandwiches for multiple days.
