An indoor boot camp gym that combines bodyweight exercises and minimal equipment is now open on Telegraph Road.
The gym had planned to open in March, but coronavirus put those plans on hold. Now that Virginia is in phase two of the Virginia Forward reopening plan, gyms can reopen with capacity limits. Fit Body Boot Camp opened June 13.
The gym will be offering a 6 week virtual challenge to its members, as well as a special 21-Day program at half the price. In-person classes are available.
The new Fit Body Boot Camp in Alexandria is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Jodi Hartel. She discovered boot camp while overseas in O’ahu, Hawaii. After finding much success in her fitness routine, she wanted to bring that level of fitness with her when she returned to the U.S. mainland.
“When I started boot camp style fitness, I was 58 years old," she said. "The workouts are intense, but can really be done at any age and level. With Fit Body Boot Camp, they include meal suggestions and nutrition information, so they really give you all the material and information you need to change your health.”
Fit Body Boot Camp is at 6937-B Telegraph Road, near Grounded Coffee.
