Alexandria's first cidery has set its grand opening date for Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9.
Lost Boy Cider promises cider, music and activities from noon to 9 p.m. both days.
Lost Boy Cider is opening in a formerly-vacant warehouse space at 317 Hooffs Run Drive. The facility includes a tasting room and event space as well as production.
The cidery uses only Virginia apples and was awarded $30,000 for its efforts to promote local agriculture. (The award event at Lost Boy Cider in May is pictured above.) The grant was part of the Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development (AFID) grant program from the state of Virginia.
