The grocery store Wegmans has announced it plans to open in the Eisenhower East neighborhood in May 2022. Hiring for team members will start this fall.
Wegmans is building an 81,000 square-foot store in Alexandria just west of Hoffman Town Center off of Eisenhower Avenue. The grocery store at Carlyle Crossing is part of a mixed-use project on a 5-acre site.
Much of the Wegmans will be on the second floor of the development with a ground-floor entrance.
The project will also include 750 residential units, more than 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space in addition to Wegmans, public green space and more.
Two of the buildings will be called Dylan and Reese, and feature smaller apartments. "Here you'll find two spectacular roof decks, a 3-acre private elevated terrace, a shimmering pool, two state-of-the-art fitness centers, plenty of co-working space, a demonstration kitchen and a stage for TED-style talks (to name just a few of our options)," according to the Carlyle Crossing website.
The Easton building will feature larger units for residents who are "ready for more space" and will also have a variety of luxury features throughout the units and the building. Apartment leases for both buildings will open this fall.
