The St. James, a premium sports and wellness venue in Springfield, is opening a school this fall in partnership with TPH Academy.
"The academy will be an innovative academic and sports training program specially designed for student athletes based at The St. James’s 450,000 sq. ft. flagship destination in Springfield, VA. From figure skating to baseball, field hockey, golf and more, student-athletes will receive specialized training and guidance from best-in-class educators and coaches who are dedicated to their growth, development and success as students, athletes and people," according to The St. James.
The St. James Performance Academy will offer a college prep curriculum powered by TPH Academy. Academic studies can be done anywhere, anytime online, which will allow athletes to study on their own time without compromising training and sports.
TPH Academy is designed for dedicated student-athletes. Virtual information sessions are offered monthly for those interested in applying. The program "provides daily structure, a fully customized learning plan, and applicable experiences to prepare student-athletes for the game of life," according to the education company. It is accredited through Cognia.
"We understand the dual aspirations of student athletes who wish to excel in their academic endeavors while pushing the boundaries of their athletic potential," said Kendrick Ashton, co-founder and co-CEO of The St. James. "Our collaboration with TPH Academy is a seminal development towards nurturing the next generation of scholars and champions."
TPH Academy has 17 locations in the United States and three in Canada.
