George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate, closed since March due to coronavirus concerns, is reopening!
Members will be welcome to return to the grounds of the storied estate on June 20. The public is welcome to return on June 21.
Capacity will be limited and members and non-members are encouraged to make reservations at www.mountvernon.org/plan-your-visit/reopening-information.
Mount Vernon Estate provided the following information:
Your safety and the safety of our staff is paramount as we open our doors again. There will be additional safety measures in place when you visit to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Highlights include:
- When possible we will maintain 6-feet of social distancing. Markings and signs will assist guests with this effort.
- Guests and staff will be required to wear face coverings when indoors and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.
- We have installed hand sanitizer stations around the estate as well as signage promoting proper hygiene.
- Mount Vernon's staff will provide regular enhanced cleaning in high touch areas throughout the day.
