City Cruises Washington D.C. Wednesday announced that the Potomac Water Taxi will resume daily service for the 2026 season beginning Friday, March 6. The service will once again provide daily connections between Old Town Alexandria and The Wharf, Georgetown and National Harbor, offering a relaxing and efficient way to travel between some of the region’s most vibrant waterfront destinations.
The season resumes just before the start of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, making the Water Taxi an ideal way to take in the blossoms from the Potomac River. The popular Cherry Blossom Water Taxi experience will once again provide sweeping shoreline views during the capital’s most beautiful time of the year, while the Monuments Tour will continue throughout the spring and summer, showcasing Washington’s historic landmarks from a unique vantage point.
“As we welcome another season out on the Potomac, we’re excited to reconnect visitors and locals alike with the city’s most iconic waterfront destinations,” said Chad Barth, vice president, Mid-Atlantic Region, City Cruises. “From commuters and tourists to festivalgoers and families, the Water Taxi delivers a memorable experience that combines convenience with unbeatable views.”
Departures will begin at The Wharf at 11:45 a.m., with boats operating every 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the day. Riders can view schedules and plan their trips by visiting www.cityexperiences.com/washington-dc and selecting their preferred date and destination. Tickets are available for advance purchase online or on the same day at ticket booths located at each port. Season Passes are also available, offering unlimited rides throughout the 2026 season.
The Navy Yard loop will also resume the following week on Friday, March 13, just in time for the Washington Spirit’s home opener against the Portland Thorns and the Nationals’ home opener against the Baltimore Orioles on March 23.
