Nationals fans have a new way to get to the games from Alexandria.
The game-day commute just got a major upgrade. The Potomac Water Taxi, operated by City Cruises, has re-launched the Navy Yard Loop, transporting riders between Old Town Alexandria and Diamond Teague Dock at Navy Yard Park, directly connecting Northern Virginians to Nationals Park, Audi Field, and the vibrant Navy Yard district.
While already operating daily services between The Wharf, Georgetown, Old Town Alexandria, National Harbor, and now Navy Yard, the Potomac Water Taxi provides a scenic, stress-free way for locals and visitors alike to explore D.C.’s top waterfront destinations.
This re-launch follows City Cruises’ recent announcement of a landmark partnership with the Washington Nationals, making City Cruises a proud partner of the team for the 2025 Major League Baseball season as part of a multi-year agreement. The agreement is part of City Cruises’ first nationwide sports partnership, highlighting the company's extraordinary experiences across the country.
“Our goal in adding this additional route is to make D.C.’s hottest destinations more accessible from the water,” says Chad Barth, VP, Mid-Atlantic Region, City Cruises. “This route gives fans a unique and relaxing way to reach any of the stadium events around Navy Yard and allows them to start their tailgate on the water!”

Tickets can be purchased online or for same-day trips at ticket booths located at the Wharf, National Harbor and Old Town Alexandria. Season passes are also available for Potomac Water Taxi, giving guests unlimited access to routes throughout 2025 (except for the Navy Yard Loop). Taxis depart every 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the day of the week.
