The Washington Commanders football team owner Dan Snyder is the buyer of 7979 E. Boulevard Drive, the property that was on the market last year for $60 million.
The Washington Business Journal found the ownership through public records.
The home sold for $48 million in an all-cash transaction in late October. (See photos of it here.)
A former Lockheed Martin executive owned the property before Snyder. The home is on 16.5 acres along the Potomac River is just southwest of River Farm, the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society.
River Farm was on the market last year before public opposition and internal AHS disagreements stopped the sale.
Currently, the most expensive homes publicly listed in Alexandria are:
- a not-yet-built $45 million home at 7983 E. Boulevard Drive
- 601-607 Oronoco St. in Old Town, a historic property
- a three-bedroom condo at Robinson Landing, 3 Pioneer Way #502, in Old Town
