A home in southeast Fairfax County is making international headlines this week.
A former Lockheed Martin Corp. CEO is selling a massive home along the Potomac River northeast of Fort Hunt for $60 million, the Wall Street Journal first reported.
River View Estate sits on 16+ acres along the Potomac River. Heather Corey of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty is listing the property. The listing is not available through the public MLS.
However, Washington Business Journals has a slideshow of the home here. The Wall Street Journal reported that the home, which was recently built, is 16,000 square feet. It has 7 bedrooms, 8 full and 7 half baths, and features like a gym with river views, a spa, steam room, home theater and a variety of smart home features.
It is marketed as being in the Mount Vernon area, since the land was on part of President George Washington's estate.
If it sells anywhere near its list price, it will be the most expensive home ever sold in the Alexandria area.
The home, on East Boulevard Drive., is just south of River Farm, which itself expected to be listed this month for $15 to $30 million.
Here are the other most expensive properties (publicly listed) in the area:
Another East Boulevard Drive property, originally listed for $38 million, has had a serious price reduction and is now listed at $14 million. See the listing here.
217 S. Fairfax St. in Alexandria, a historic property, is listed for $4.95 million. (Tour the property on video with Monte Durham here.)
Another historic property in Old Town, 506 Cameron St., is listed for $3.99 million. (It was recently an Airbnb property.)
There are also several multiple properties at the new development at the new 300 S. Union St. development, including this one for $4.99 million.
