People who love making their home a little cozier with candles have a new destination in Alexandria this fall.
The Alexandria Candle Shop, a pop-up shop inside Made in ALX in Old Town North, has opened. Made in ALX is a collective of more than 45 makers who are based here in Alexandria. Nine of those makers create candles.
All of the candles in the new pop-up are soy wax or beeswax candles, which come from renewable, natural resources. Some are wood wick candles, others are cotton wick.
The nine makers showcasing their candles this year are: C&A Soy Candles, Calming Connections and Wellness, the Alexandria Honey Co., Potomac Candle Co., Isle & Wild Creations, ISO Candles, Smiles and Light, Bashford & Pitt and Hilary De Mayo.
C&A Soy Candle is leading multiple candle-making classes in the Made in ALX workshop space, as well.
The pop up will be open through early January at Made in ALX, 533 Montgomery St. in Old Town North. Free parking is available in the retail garage on First Street between North Pitt and North St. Asaph streets.

Hours are 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sundays.
