Some places go all out with Christmas lights and other decorations. Here are the biggest holiday lights displays in Alexandria and beyond.
Holiday Homes in the Alexandria Area
Collingwood Lights — In late November, “Collingwood Lights” at 1601 Collingwood Rd. won national recognition and a large cash prize on ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” Collingwood is already lit up for the season, and viewers can tune into 88.1 FM to listen to coordinated Christmas music. Fairview Drive — The lights at 2507 Fairview Dr. will be on by Dec. 8, according to the owners. The display includes lights, inflatables and characters. The home is just northwest of West Potomac High School. Nearby, take a look at 2404 Phillips Dr. for more lights.
Joyce Road — Near Kingstowne, the home at 6412 Joyce Rd. will be lit up starting Dec. 8. Inflatables, plenty of lights and Santa (and his reindeer) flying over the driveway are highlights.
Del Ray — 409 E Nelson Ave. in Del Ray features layers and layers of lights, a tall Christmas tree and more.

Lorton —At 8209 Lorton Rd., see wire-framed, lit-up characters and animated pieces, lit trees and more. While you’re in Lorton, swing by 7302 Rhondda Dr., too.
Springfield — 8700 Nanlee Drive features moving trains, a ferris wheel, swing and more. 5406 Fremont St. in Springfield features Charlie Brown, the Looney Tunes gang and more.
Falls Church — 510 East Broad St. features a variety of unique, homemade sculptures and scenes. Parking is available at the church across the street.

With all homes, please stay out of the yard! Some homeowners will allow you to walk along the sidewalk and up the driveway to get a better view.
Some elements of these displays may be turned off during rain or wind, so check the weather before heading out!
