The American Horticultural Society (AHS) is hosting its annual Spring Garden Market April 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at River Farm, AHS’ headquarters in Alexandria. Ticket and event information is on the AHS website.
The popular two-day event kicks off the gardening season in Northern Virginia, drawing plant lovers and families from across the region for a fun day out. Attendees can browse the garden marketplace, seek advice from horticultural experts, learn about floral design, enjoy delicious food, and explore River Farm’s beautiful, bloom-filled gardens and historic manor house, which overlooks the Potomac River.
This year’s marketplace features 40 curated vendors with native plants, herbs, seeds, original art, gardening tools, specialty finds, and more. Floral designer and writer Christin Geall is this year’s guest speaker.
Christin will share her expertise during two special sessions: Creating a Cutting Garden, on April 10 at 1 p.m., and Developing Floral Arrangements, on April 11 at 10 a.m.
