Vermilion Restaurant in Old Town Alexandria plans to reopen in July, according to the restaurant's website.
"Vermilion will be reopening its doors this July, and we couldn't be more excited! After a brief period of inactivity, we're ready to return to refreshingly local, seasonal bites in a charmingly intimate ambience.
Until then, we hope you will consider trying Neighborhood Provisions, your one-stop-shop for local, handcrafted eats, right at your doorstep. In addition to offering a great selection of meals for immediate delivery, Neighborhood Provisions also has an extensive Pantry offering, which includes everything you’d want to stock your fridge, cabinet or cupboard with—including an inimitable collection of craft beer, hard to find wines and handmade cocktails."
Located at 1120 King St., the restaurant is part of Neighborhood Restaurant Group, garnering four stars by more than 800 reviews on Yelp and 4.5 stars on OpenTable from more than 3,000 reviews. The restaurant group closed its restaurants in March 2020 and offered delivery, reopening some of its eateries as some restrictions due to the pandemic lifted.
After the pandemic hit, Vermilion chef Thomas Cardarelli pivoted, starting Stracci Pizza as a food truck in Del Ray and moving into a brick-and-mortar restaurant at 106 Hume Ave. That space was formerly occupied by Nectar Coffee & Wine Bistro.
