The Sushi Bar in Del Ray has closed, but a new concept is opening soon.
Homegrown Restaurant Group opened the restaurant, alongside Holy Cow and Pork Barrel BBQ at 2312 Mt. Vernon Ave., in 2013. The restaurant faced some controversy immediately, as the owners made it an adults-only venue, which some patrons loved and others hated.
Still, the restaurant found success and a loyal following in the neighborhood until its closure this week.
Owners Mike Anderson and Bill Blackburn will be reopening as a holiday pop-up bar with appetizers and drinks, and a new concept from Homegrown Restaurant Group is slated to open in February.
