St. Elmo's opened at 529 Montgomery St. on Jan. 10.
St. Elmo’s opened its second location Saturday in Old Town North.
The new coffee shop, at 529 Montgomery St., has a more industrial feel than the original Del Ray location, but it serves up similar pastries, hot items, sandwiches, coffee and more.
The coffee shop expects to receive its liquor license shortly, allowing it to serve craft beer and wine.
The new shop is part of the 530 First Street development by Edens, which also includes The Gables apartments, Wooboi Hot Chicken, Sisters Thai restaurant, Oak Steakhouse, West Elm and several other shops and services.
The original St. Elmo's Coffee Pub at 2300 Mt. Vernon Ave. opened in 1996. Founder Nora Partlow sold the business in 2015 to Culinary Concepts, which is owned by Alexandria business owners Larry and Christine Ponzi, who also own Del Ray's Market to Market.
