A self-described "new kind of food hall," Wonder, that offers menus by celebrity chefs, is planning to open a location in Franconia, and may have its eye on a spot in Potomac Yard in Alexandria, according to a report by Washington Business Journal.
Wonder describes its concept: "From Michelin-star spots to hidden gems, our team of experts select the country’s best version of your favorite cuisines. Then our chef partners teach us how to replicate their dishes. Explore menus from our 20+ restaurant partners, all in one place. Order from as many restaurants as you like in a single delivery."
Many of the chefs are James Beard award winners, Michelin star recipients and Food Network stars such as Michael Symon, Marcus Samuelsson, Bobby Flay, Nancy Silverton, and José Andrés, Eater DC reports.
The food hall guarantees 35-minute deliveries from "the best restaurants from across the country, all in one place."
The company is currently searching for a general manager for its Wonder food hall in Franconia, 7005 Manchester Blvd. Washington Business Journal reports that the new food hall will be located where Ghengis Grill was formerly in business.
The DC area will get its first Wonder food hall in June on 14th Street in DC, according to a report from The Washington Lobbyist.
