There may be just a few more days to get Cheddar Bay Biscuits in Alexandria.
The Red Lobster restaurant at 555 S. Van Dorn St. in Alexandria's West End is among those that could close by the end of this month. The restaurant's company, which is in bankruptcy proceedings, petitioned to end the lease at the Alexandria restaurant and two other locations in Virginia, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Red Lobster has had financial trouble in the past few years, including instability in its leadership, unsustainable debt and an all-you-can-eat shrimp deal that caused financial losses.
Red Lobster started in 1968 in Florida, and at its peak it had more than 700 locations worldwide.
If the Alexandria restaurant closes at the end of August, the closest Red Lobster restaurant to Alexandria will be in Woodbridge.
