Alexandria's Port City Brewing Co. has announced the release of the newest addition to their Hop Series: Spite House, a "bold and unapologetic West Coast IPA," available starting Friday, Oct. 17.
Named with a nod to the sharp edges and small rebellions that define both architectural oddities and craft brewing innovation, Spite House is everything you'd expect from a classic West C
oast IPA — and then some.
Pouring a bright, clear gold with a crisp white head, this beer hits the palate with assertive bitterness and bright, punchy hop character. Layers of pine, papaya, and resinous citrus dominate the aroma and flavor, supported by a clean malt backbone that lets the hops do all the talking.
Available on draft and 16-oz cans to go!
In addition to a delicious beer, Port City has invited local mystery author, John Wasowicz, to showcase his newest novel, named after the same feature of Alexandria: Spite House! The house is the backdrop for the seventh installment and most intriguing mystery. He will be tabling with an Alexandrian Spite House owner himself, Brendan O’Leary. Stop by the event to talk to both of them and sip this historic beer!
The brewery is located at 3950 Wheeler Ave., Alexandria, Virginia 22304
