An Italian restaurant named L'Italiano Vero was supposed to fill the space formerly occupied by Sunday in Saigon in Old Town North, but it appears that plans have changed.
There are signs on the venue at at 682 N. St. Asaph St. now advertising that Narman Restaurant will be opening soon, serving Turkish food.
The restaurant will take diners "on a culinary journey to the crossroads of Europe and Asia," according to narmanrestaurant.com. "Our restaurant is more than just a dining establishment; it's a gateway to the rich flavors and warm hospitality of Turkey."
Chef Sanjak Demirji, who was raised in Turkey, will helm the kitchen. The menu is not yet available, but the region's cuisine is traditionally vegetable-forward with rice and fish.
The patio will be pet-friendly and the menu will include items for dogs, too.
An opening date is not yet available.
