If you're a little bit country and a little bit rock'n roll, you might want to start making plans to visit Desert 5 Spot.
Desert 5 Spot will soon be opening in Washington, D.C., at 400 Morse St. NE, Washington, D.C. 20002, blending a mixture of live country music, retro 1970s design and desert vibes, after opening in Los Angeles and New York.
The space in Union Market was previously home to Alexandria Restaurant Partners' Palette 22.
For the new venture, Desert 5 Spot, guests can expect:
Elevated American comfort food from Chef Thomas McKenna, including Nashville Hot Chicken, Cherry Wood–Smoked Pork Spare Ribs with sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, Garlic and Black Pepper–Crusted Brisket Sandwich, Cast Iron Cornbread, and more.
A two-story venue featuring a live music stage, dining experience offering dinner and brunch, rooftop terrace cactus garden, DJ booth built into a vintage Chevy truck and a mechanical bull.
A standout craft cocktail program with signature drinks like the Ring of Fire (mezcal, Ancho Reyes, prickly pear, lime), the Jolene (tequila, strawberry, watermelon, lime), and the Drop Kick Me Jesus (Ilegal mezcal, green Chartreuse, chile, lime), plus frozen cocktails and large-format options.
Inspired by Joshua Tree hideouts, throwback roadside motels and western nostalgia, Desert 5 Spot serves up margaritas, specialty cocktails cold canned beers and LA-approved tacos. Featuring daily live performances by emerging country artists, the Desert 5 House Band, line dancing and two-stepping classes, with weekend DJs playing country hits all night long, the venue welcomes one and all to leave their tensions and pretensions at the door, put on their boots and let the good times roll.
