Alexandria has several exciting new restaurants that have recently opened in the past year or so with more to come, including Floriana, Finn & Fire, Peter Chang plus food hall Wonder in Potomac Yard and the recently opened Ben'YaYs and Valleta Port, all offering a variety of options for those who like to explore new restaurants.
Here's a look at a few that have recently opened you'll have to try if you haven't had a chance to stop by yet:
- Valletta Port: This Mediterranean cafe, wine bar and restaurant at 682 N. St. Asaph in Old Town North, opened late last year. So far, the eatery has racked up 4.3 stars out of 5 on Yelp from 28 reviews.
- Frankie's Kitchen & Cocktail Bar: Serving up wood-fired pizzas and cocktails at 823 S. Washington St., it has gotten 4.3 stars as well on Yelp from 50 reviews since it opened in 2024.
- Ben'YaYs: Fresh Louisiana-style beignets opened in 2024 at 1028 King St. and has earned 4.4 stars out of 5 from Yelpers.
- Paris Baguette: French-inspired bakery café in the West End, at 4616 Kenmore Ave. has racked up 62 Yelp reviews and has earned 4.3 stars out of 5 stars.
- Milk & Honey: Opened at 801 King St., this restaurant offers up Southern comfort food and opened in July this year. The eatery has earned 4.2 stars out of 5 stars from 36 reviews.
- Sharbat Bakery & Cafe: Opened in July this year at 1640 King St. It has earned 4.9 stars out of 5 on Yelp from 15 reviews.
- Founding Farmers: Serving up favorites made from scratch, this powerhouse located at 461 Swann Ave. in Alexandria is going strong with 4 out of 5 stars from 232 reviews on Yelp.

- Floriana: Northern Italian restaurant expanding from DC, planned for late spring/early summer 2026 in The Atrium building.
